who we are
Gday farmers, earth movers and miners alike:
I am currently a fifth generation farmer, who not too long ago decided that to pick up some extra change I’d enter the game of importing; bringing in a small range of agricultural implements including chaser bins, grader blades, and other implements from China.
After seeking advice from a few friends who had experience importing from China (but in the furniture/homeware space) they said you’d be crazy to pursue business over there without at least some form of an agent who knows/has experience in the space. However after scouring the web I was surprised to see a clear deficiency of Australian based procurers that specialise in sourcing agriculture and mining equipment.
Due to not wanting to fork out a small fortune to pay a large corporate agency, and hearing horror stories about people being done over using cheap Chinese based agencies, I simply said, bugger it, and forced myself through the painstaking process of figuring out the ropes. This was no easy feat might I add, as we were approaching seeding at the time and as I’m currently half way through a double degree in Ag science and finance at UWA, time was scarce to say the least.
After a painstaking few months of being left on hold by almost every government agency possible, I eventually got my ducks in line a figured out a streamlined process for being able to bring in plant and equipment for agricultural, earthwork and mining use. This involved organising ROVA advisory notices, import permits, import exemptions, various quarantine declarations, manufacture declarations and a whole host of other formalities that our government likes to impose.
Along the way I had a recurring interest from farmers and contractors alike who had also tossed around the idea of bringing in some equipment from china but due to a lack of available help, and booked up schedules had let the idea go. This interest pushed me to create AUS-CHINA Procurers, and help streamline the process for likeminded individuals by removing all the research time and risk required to brining in various plant and equipment.
As I now have the required systems, process and relationships in place, (after going through it all myself), I have entered a position where I can get others into importing so they too can reap in the benefits of increased profitability through lower parts and machinery costs. (don’t tell AFGRI !)
However, Just to clarify, I am not a freight forwarder so don’t come asking me for the latest shipping rates! I focus on serving what I call the Factory to Free on Board (FOB) stage of the process, helping you source a product and then get it to port (within China). From there the freight forwarder takes the reigns and organises all the shipping and insurance, however I am happy to explain how that process works and point you in the direction of some of the more reputable names in the freight game, who I trust with all my cargo.
What We Do
The steps that I can guide you through in the Factory to free on board stage are:
Product sourcing
Identifying reputable and quality manufactures (can be difficult when ordering through third party websites like Alibaba, MadeInChina)
Brokering deals (Business in china is all about respect and relationships)
Preforming Q&A inspections (critical component often overlooked)
Meeting with manufacturers, touring factories, and completing all business formalities on you behalf In china
In addition to this, for all those wanting a to experience it all first hand and don’t mind spending 15 hours on plane, me and my team (based in china) can acts as your with-in country expert, escorting you around and taking care of all the various associated formalities.
However if there’s anything else related to the importing process that you would also like advice on then feel free to throw me a call and as and we can devise a plan for your imports moving forward.
