Quality & assurance Inspections
Quality control is arguably the most important aspect of bringing in plant and machinery from China. Manufacturers are notorious for cutting corners when clients leave them to their ‘own devices’ and don’t complete thorough Q&A inspections both during and post production.
I found this was especially prevalent when ordering through third party sites like Alibaba and MadeInChina where customers transfer funds before they have ever seen the products in person. Relying on the manufactures to perform quality controls up to your standards is a very irresponsible way to import as all it gives you is a first class ticket to getting ‘done over’.
Like you, manufacturers are business owners that also need to make a dollar. If they sense you’re going to be hands off about the whole process, they’ll substitute the materials and production methods agreed on with the cheapest possible alternatives. And by the time you eventually find out, it’s going to be too late. Refunds seldom exists in such a world and so its up to the importer to ensure the products meet their desired standards.
